BURLINGTON, ON
Does anyone know why this is happening?
In the lot to the immediate east of Emma’s, which is still closed and available if you want to rent the space, there is a bulldozer pushing huge boulders over the edge.
It would appear that the shore line is being protected from any erosion.
The Conservation authority has jurisdiction over this site.
Does anyone know why the concern over possible erosion?
Well- Here is a 60 year Resident’s thoughts and a member of the Save the Lakeshore 1970’s.. We live on a Flood plane, with Creeks,, Remember the Costly Floods in Burlington? We paved the green lands gardens etc. for multi non permeable uses- Parking lots etc.(City Planning),.. Global warming, has raised the lake levels to Historic Highs. Now of course we are protecting the Condos on the Shore. So, The conservation staff are struggling to mitigate the these choices. Best of Luck on this story
This has been going on for months.
Interesting that you mention that Emma’s is closed, this past Saturday evening there was a very large limo parked outside the building, closer to the Water Street Cooker location. –
