One cannot deny that there is voter apathy out there in Burlington. If the majority of citizens don’t even bother to come out and vote, it sorta sends out a signal that the majority don’t care about what goes on at city hall. Most of the time (and it starts in childhood!) if people are pretty sure that they aren’t being watched/supervised they will do what they WANT to do, not what they are SUPPOSED to do! That sucks for the minority of us who do vote and do care about the goings on at city hall. Just my 2 cents worth.

It is obvious !Just double the size of council.Maybe we will get some new blood that has higher level experience than the current crew.

I love how they keep pretending that “input gathered from the community” means anything, or that a telephone town hall with no notice, a booth at the market, or a skewed survey equals actual engagement. Why is it that when residents give their feedback to their council members by email or phone – it never counts for anything? Same with petitions.
