What makes the Gazette the local news + online accredited newspaper it is?
Readers who communicate with us

A rather drab-looking building that was funded by CMHC on the condition that 25% of the units would be priced as affordable housing.
We have coffee downtown every Friday and notice that Kelly’s has not been demolished and seems to be protected.
Is it coming down or are they making it part of the new build?
Inquiring minds want to know….
Thanks so much for your great “newspaper”
I read it every day
We explained what is happening: The facade is being kept – it will be window dressing for what is really a rather drab-looking building that was funded by CMHC on the understanding that 25% of the units would be affordable housing homes.

Love the Gazette and especially your writing. It’s obvious that you care about what you do and it come through in your writing. InsideHalton and other web based local journal are not even come close. Just a string of other medias cut and pasted stories.
For improvements I would suggest adding local sports coverage to celebrate Burlington’s young athletes. I’m not even into sports but I can see that sports like hockey, baseball and soccer are a big deal for so many parents.
I even forgive your contributing writers with their profound Liberal bias because even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
Editor’s note: There just isn’t enough revenue to bring on a full time sports writer – which the city deserves. When the economy improves we will find the sports writer we have wanted for some time.
Rivers writes an Opinion column – he makes it clear he is a Liberal and has on occasion taken the Liberals to task.
