BURLINGTON, ON
Does anyone know where the Burlington New Democrats are?
Not a sound from the locals.
However, their leader Marit Stiles is doing a superb job. As Leader of the Opposition, she is there to replace the government when it can no longer do the job – which is just about now.
We get a lot of information from the NDP headquarters – but no word on what the local New Democrats are doing.
Drummond was the candidate in the past two elections – the public wasn’t interested even when Horwath looked as if she was going to win the xxx election.
The local party has not been very active in the past few years. Stiles has convinced former Toronto Mayor David Miller to put together a document that would set out the kind of relationship the municipal sector should have with the province.
Stiles behaves as if she will be the Premier – and you never know. To be realistic the best that can be hoped for is a minority Progressive Conservative government with the New Democrats holding the balance of power.
The Liberals are struggling to capture some of the public imagination. They are still facing what the public thought of Kathleen Wynne when she was soundly defeated by Doug Ford. The Liberals were left with less than ten seats.
Drummond

Interesting.
Have you noticed the NDP is running 3rd in the polls?
So was Jack Layton before the orange wave. It had the advantage that the Liberals and Tories wasted a ton of their budgets attacking each other instead him and that’s happening again with them attacking each other instead of Marit who can focus on positive ads instead of attack ads, because her enemies are doing that for her.
Plus Bonnie is so rightwing she could easily eat into Ford’s support while losing support to the NDP over the course of an election.
And Marit Stiles is still the official opposition leader and will likely have a bigger war chest then the Liberals.
Never NDP.we tried that show once with a “ship of fools”
By every metric we were better under the NDP, things were affordable, no for profit medicine, less traffic, better maintained cities which were not dealing with stuff that would later get downloaded to them by lib and Tory governments, no hallway medicine, no homeless encampments, no corruption in Ontario’s government, people could afford a home still, no tolls on roads, folks could afford groceries, and young folks didn’t feel hopeless. The Libs and Tories failed this province, it’s time to go back to ONDP days.
Great use of $200 “rebate” will be to give it to NDP!
