Karina Gould – on the job in the House of Commons

It’s as official as it can be at this point.

The Toronto Star reports that Karina Gould will be a candidate for the leadership of the Liberal Party.

She has several events taking place today – we expect to cross her path at one of them and get the word from the horses’ mouth.

At 37, she would likely be the youngest candidate in the leadership race. She made history as the first federal cabinet minister to give birth and take maternity in the job. Gould now has two children.  Born and raised in Burlington, Gould attended MM Robinson high school and then McGill University.

Or possibly serving at Trudeau’s behest as a stalking horse candidate to draw votes away from Chrystia Freeland’s campaign to help Carney win.

Assuming most of the 130 or so who packed the Arts Centre for her Levee are behind her, Trudeau will still have to find about 100 people willing to cough up $1750.

Sorry. In 1987 Sheila Copps became the first sitting member of Parliament to have a child while in office.

Joeseph, I asked Karina that question about 18 months ago. I did not receive a straight answer which was not surprising. I strongly believe that if Karina does run it will be a futile attempt to her seat.

If Freeland was sincere about the interests of Canadians she will not run at this time, allow the Carney, the Liberal equivalent of Harris, and watch him fall like the Hindenburg.

After listening to Carney on the Jon Stewart’s tds, show, and if we end up with 3 candidates Karina may win due to spilt voting. I dont think Canada needs Carney. If I could ask Karina one question it would be, did you tell Justin he has to go, because he did, but held on too long.

She will not win her seat again in this town. The Liberal party stigma will be an albatross around her neck.

I hope Gould wins the Liberal leadership race. She has stood with Justin Trudeau through every scandal and poor policy decision that is now costing Canadians $1 billion per week in interest payments, higher violent crime rates, and a reduced standard of living. She is part and parcel of the Progressive Liberal bubble that never admits to reality. According to Gould, Parliament was dysfunctional for two months prior to the winter break because the Cons were playing politics – when in reality Parliament was stagnating because the Liberals refused to hand over the “green slush fund’ documents by Parliamentary Order and were in contempt of that order. Gould is another one that “sees things differently”.

Attended Oxford, as did Mark Carney and Chrystia Freeland. Source: Vassy Show on 1010, not CTV this time.

She will have a big challenge, but is as worthwhile as many of the others, and not part of the old guard. She must also have some significant financial backing – I wonder from whom or what.

Editors note: They all have banking from the banks and big corp.
