BURLINGTON, ON
It was one of the best hockey games ever broadcast with the very best players on the ice.
The best social media comment we’ve seen so far.

Totally agree, also the most watched hockey game. However, is the Gazette aware of the negative comments regarding our Hon. Team Captain, Ontario’s Wayne Gretzky regarding his relationship/support of Trump. We understand out West they are renaming a Wayne Gretzky road due to this support. However, with the level of fake news we have to wonder if this is more US/Trump nonsense stirring the pot.
We are seeing Ottawa media reports that Gretzky, Canada’s Hon. Team Captain came onto the ice via the US tunnel giving the US players the thumbs up and other disturbing reports. Has the editor/publisher got any information on these matters which sees a previous local Canada hockey great seemingly in cahoots with Trump. The public needs assurance that these are rumours only or one of our hockey greats needs to be explaining himself.
Sadly this is true. Gretzky also didn’t wear a Team Canada jersey or even the colour red for the ceremonial faceoff, while his US counterpart was in the US jersey. There’s the awkward photo of the two captains in their respective uniforms, the US coach in same jersey beside his player, and Gretzky in a blue suit. There are also many photos of Gretzky and his wife celebrating at the Trump inauguration and he is a known Trump supporter. Your reference of Canadians wanting to rename a highway – amazingly that is in Edmonton! There is a petition on change.org. Perhaps same should happen in Brantford …
I thought Wayne’s shilling for gambling industry was bad – but this is really sinking his reputation.
The ‘Great One’ knows a losing team when he sees one.
I like it 😉
The other day, I helped some people push their car out of a snow bank. They were from Michigan—oops, I meant the 11th province.
You would.
