Will someone tell Burlington Conservatives when just one more MP crosses the floor - the Carney government is in place until 2029

OPINION

There are times when I have to wonder what some people are smoking.

This from the Burlington Conservative Party Association:

“It’s been a demanding year and now we must prepare for what is next to come!

Is Mark Carney about to welcome another Conservative MP to the Liberal Party?

“With the real possibility of an election in 2026, we must rebuild our campaign fund so we are prepared at a moment’s notice.

“Ottawa is unstable and Canadians deserve better!  It is time for change.  It is time for common sense and strong leadership for Canada.

“We have set a modest goal of raising $10,000 before December 31st.”

Who writes this stuff doe them?

The next election is going to be in 2029; that will be guaranteed when yet one more Conservative crosses the floor of the House of Commons to become a Liberal

Thirty-nine percent view him favourably and 44 percent view him unfavourably, for a net rating of minus 5.

The problem is not with the Conservative Party – it is with the leader they have.  He is due for a review by the membership of the party sometime in January.

The smartest thing the federal Conservatives could do is call a leadership convention – give the membership a year to see who comes forward and seek a leader who has some credibility.

The country does need an Opposition party

If Carney is your champion to maintain democracy you can’t be serious. This must be sarcasm.

In other news Carney’s entirely macro policies will seal the countries economic failure. He has exhausted his personal contacts abroad with zero tangible results.

I crashed Emily Browns Christmas party to volunteer to attend Polievres leadership review to vote for change. On this we agree.

Minority or slim majority Carney cant buy enough MPs to have an effective stable government. We will see an election in late 2026.

Have you ever stopped to think why the mainstream media, now including this publication, spends so much time focused on our opposition leader Pierre Poilievre – at least as much as the PM if not more? And, they don’t spend any time on the NDP, block or green party by comparison.

By contrast, no time is given to the 1000 jobs lost at Algoma, the auto jobs lost across Ontario, the Peterbuilt Truck plant jobs lost in Quebec, the Exon jobs lost in Calgary, the soft wood lumber jobs lost in BC. Little time is spent on food bank line ups and grocery inflation. What happen to the story about Ryan Wedding, Canadian snowboarder turned cartel leader importing drugs into Canada. What about the billions of investment dollars heading to the US – this has not stopped and is not slowing. No reporting on the 4 or 5 Liberal resignations this spring. No reporting on housing starts that are declining.

I’ll try to enlighten you, the mainstream media, who “carries the water” for the Liberals spend all this time on Poilievre because he’s a real threat to Carney. They want to make a big deal out of the convention and his leadership, which he will pass with flying colours in January.

Carney has had 8 months now to show results, and not surprising there are no results to show, so all the media can do is focus on the Pierre. Oh, wait there is one result, it seems every trip Carney makes to Washington, tariffs on Canada go up.

Liberals are in trouble as Canadians figure out Carney, Abacus polling Liberals flat, Ipsos Liberals down 3%, Main Street Liberals down3%, Pallas Liberals down 0.5%.

The Liberals also know the conservative vote is far more efficient, and this is very concerning to them. And hence you will see more attacks on Poilievre this January, while the media ignore the key issues important to Canadians.

Yes, I took the bait and respond to this piece. It does miss a couple of nuances, few are happy with floor crossers, they are simply traitors looking out for their own welfare.

Right now there is a “pairing” agreement between the Liberals and Conservatives. I suggest you look it up, and expect this will likely be pulled by the Conservatives this spring which will make things very sketchy for the Liberals.

Even if there is another traitor crossing the floor, it no where near ensures the government will last until 2029 – the NDP desperately want party status back and the Block see opportunity in Quebec with separation on the rise under Liberal division, and most likely the pairing agreement will be pulled.

I personally want Pollievre to keep his job, it will guarantee that the Liberals will be in power at least until 2029….we need Carney to lead us to maintain democracy in North America…there is no doubt that that the US is on an entirely different path.
