BURLINGTON, ON
That storm on Thursday brought down an older tree on Locust Street close to Baldwin.

The porch and part of the roof were badly damaged when the tree came down.
The front porch of the house was heavily damaged.
The property owner is reported to have asked the city to take it down due to significant rot but at first refused.
Upon inspection, the city agreed and was going to cut the tree down.

The roots just didn’t hold during a violent half-hour rainstorm last Thursday.
A neighbour then challenged the decision, and the city decided not to cut down the tree.
Going to be tough for those two neighbours to get along for the next while.
The city forestry people are caught in the middle.
