Gazette gussies up a bit; cleaner, sharper look. Also adds a proof reader to the team.

BURLINGTON, ON.

A bit of a new look to your “newspaper on a web site” which we think is cleaner and brighter looking.

Along with the new look there are some additional features.  There is an archive in place and the search tool is clearer.  With the archive – you can type in February 2013 and see everything we did that month.

To the delight of our thousands of readers there is also a proof reader on staff – finally.  It will take us a year to overcome the reputation we earned for the poor spelling.

House ad readership blue 250Our intention was to bring all the little features that made reading your newspaper and making a copy of a story that much easier.  We think we got them all – but  if we missed anything – you know where we live.

There are now two house ads on the home page – that feature will expand.

There is a community activity feature that is under development – that should be ready for mid-September.

Progress.

Good for you, you needed this!

Thanks for the continuing high quality of format/presentation and the only source of council information which informs.

I heard we’re in for a 4-4-4 and 4 per cent tax regime in the next term.

Why? Council “ABSOLUTELY REQUIRES IT” … I don’t know whether that was declared before, or after, your previously described SWEET 6-week absence.

It has just barely become WARM out here … and I’m already into my winter of discontent with council’s lack of willingness to be open and democratic with CITIZENS.

Why not set up a HOT STOVE LEAGUE, Pepper? There are lots of disenfranchised people in the city who would be willing to participate in restoring democracy. The Seniors Centre as a venue looks o.k. to me.

Once you’ve had a look at Citizen Work Proposals, and delegated who you think might be capable of Sitting In The Chair And Directing Citizen Efforts, you can return to your OBVIOUS TALENT, which is THIS NEWSPAPER.

I’m presently in a little bit of a WAR with a TELECOM. Once that’s been cleared and received resolution, I would be happy to provide whatever assistance I can.

You already know I’m not a very CONCILIATORY PERSON when it comes to issues where council has dropped the ball. How’s the contaminated landfill at the airport coming? I would like to meet Ms. Williams, Ward 6, and councillor Saint Evict-Us, Ward 1.
