After looking at the picture - do you still believe polls?

BURLINGTON, ON

The question that goes with this picture is:  Do you still believe the polls?

The lineup was of people attending a Pierre Poileivre event in Kingston, Ontario on a day when the polls had the Liberals ahead by more than 9 points.

That is a very very long line – people in Kingston waiting to get into a Pierre Poilievre speech.

My ongoing count of campaign signs has now expanded to include what I believe to be relatively Liberal neighbourhoods. I’ve observed 16 Conservative signs and 13 Liberal signs over a distance of 16 kilometres, with no signs for any other parties.
In one entire street filled with over 100 family homes, there is only one Conservative sign. What is happening here? Where should we place our bets? Have people’s minds already been made up? Even those displaying temporary Maple Leaf flags and signs aren’t indicating their voting intentions.

Don’t discount the silent majority. Time will tell.

  • The difference is that polls survey a wide sector of the voting public, while rallies attract devotees that already favor that candidate. Don’t confuse the line ups with voting trends.
