BURLINGTON, ON
A feature report in the Globe and Mail this morning put Burlington at 18th in a list of 100 cities.
In the top ten for the following categories:
Young Professionals, Raising Kids, Midlife transitions, Retirement, Newcomers and Entrepreneurs: Burlington didn’t make the cut in any of them.
This is the third listing the Globe and Mail has done.

These surveys are a complete joke and really only legitimized by the politicians who are the good side of the ledger. However, what concerns me are the positive comments here. At the bar of local spin, “I’ll take my KoolAid straight please”.
No city in Ontario made the cut.
11 years ago I moved to Burlington to retire. It seemed like a great decision at the time. But it has become so much more expensive to live in, with large property tax increases over the last few years for things (i.e.: vanity projects) that many of us think are non-essential. However, not just Burlington, most of Ontario did not make the list (Ottawa made it in 4 categories). I wonder what this says about our provincial government and its leader?
On the other hand, we are #18 out of the top 100. Not so bad in my opinion.
I can remember when we were number1 and it was not that long ago
