BURLINGTON, ON

How did Burlington react to the eclipse?

A crowd too large to count descended on Spencer Smith Park

A picture is worth 1000 words – which the reporting team is putting together before they call it a day.

A sneak peak at what they have to tell you.

I was sitting over on the lawn by the old waterfront hotel with a friend. It was an amazing experience and I loved the feeling of so many people, including tons of families and kids and teens all coming out and enjoying this together. I felt like standing up and shouting “yay science!” I also saw several folks with very serious telescopes and cameras. When it went dark, and the birds went quiet, there was a very special feeling that I can’t describe but won’t forget and wish this could be felt more often.

I could see it all from my back yard and I am not on the Lakeshore.

Awesome experience- the sun appeared just when it was ordered…perfect timing, great to be with others when the darkness descended and the Corona was revealed in all of it glory.
    Unsurpassed…unforgettable…

Not sure what the problem was with you in Waterdown, Pepper, but the solar eclipse experience in Burlington was pretty spectacular. The ever diminishing sun, day turning into night, the “diamond ring” re-emergence of the sun, and then back to daylight & normalcy. What’s for dinner? The big question I have for your readers is how so many could witness this and still believe that there is no intelligent design to this universe, no God?
