BURLINGTON, ON
They are getting the message.

These Council members have heard what the public has to say about property tax levels.
City Council was discussing the next budget – it won’t be dealt with by the current council – it will be determined by whoever is on City Council after the October 26 election.
Ranges of 10% less than the budget passed last year, or maybe 5% less or a zero increase. Not more than inflation was suggested.
All kinds of numbers were being tossed out.
What is clear is that the current members of Council have had a change of heart.
Stay tuned.

My approach is to believe what Council has done, not what they say they are going to do. Council knew the hardship its property tax increases are causing and yet still went ahead. This promise to lower tax increases is nothing more than a feint designed to deceive voters before the next election. I, for one, am not fooled.
For goodness sake don’t drink the Kool-Aid. It is an election year.
Election year musings?
Too little, too late.
Bye Bye
I am sure some feel guilty about the large increases the last 3 years and are signalling lower rates to try to get re-elected, including the Mayor.
A change of heart ? LOL
More likely election propaganda aimed at saving their council seats.
