City Hall reminds us that Saturday, July 18 marks 100 days until Voting Day (Oct. 26) in Burlington’s next municipal election!

Between Oct. 14 – 26, eligible voters will choose who will represent them on City Council and make key decisions for their city.

Voting takes place:

  • online, using internet voting from Oct. 14 – 23
  • in person at advance polls on Oct. 17 and 20
  • in person on Voting Day, Oct. 26

People turn out to vote federally and provincially but not municipally.

Apply to the Joint Municipal Election Compliance Audit Committee

The City of Burlington and the Towns of Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville are looking for members to sit on the Joint Compliance Audit Committee for the upcoming election term.

Under the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, the Committee will consider applications from eligible electors who believe, on reasonable grounds, that a municipal election candidate or third-party advertiser has contravened a provision of the Act relating to campaign finances. The Committee may also be required to appoint auditors and determine if legal proceedings are required as a result of the auditors’ reports, or reports from the Clerk.

Join the Committee

The Halton municipalities are seeking up to seven individuals with professional experience in accounting, auditing, academics, law, election administration and/or public administration to apply to serve on the Committee. The term of office will be concurrent with the next term of council, from Nov. 15, 2026, to Nov. 14, 2030.

Each member appointed will receive a retainer for the four-year term, plus compensation and mileage, if applicable, for any additional meetings.

For more information, visit the Town of Oakville’s Compliance Audit Committee web page. Applications close July 24, 2026
