The next budget will result in a tax increase from the 7% last time out to 7.9 for 2024.

    I do not understand the math. 2024 overall increase is 6.82%, so the city share of this is irrelevant except as an indicator that other non-city components have a lower increase, which is probably good. Thanks Halton, I guess.
    But “simulation” is kind of a fuzzy concept – i.e. best guess with an unstated margin for error.
    Also, 7.44% is not 7%, and 7.82%is not 7.9%.

    I’ll wait to see the real numbers before panicking.
