Who the next leader of the Liberal Party is going to be decided by the members of the Liberal Party.

Who decides who the next Prime Minister is going to be will be decided by citizens across the country.

The federal Liberals have released the rules for the upcoming leadership race; that election will take place on March 9th.

The party announced voting would be open to any Canadian citizen or permanent resident 14 years or older who registers as a Liberal before Jan. 27.

The entrance fee for prospective candidates is $350,000. They have to declare their candidacy by Jan. 23.

Summing it up:  Gould has to decide by January 23rd if she is going to take a shot at becoming the leader of the Liberal Party.

In order to take part in that decision individuals have to register as a Liberal before January 27th.

  • So, 13 days for candidates to gather $350k in donations, followed by 40 days to print, distribute, collect and count ballots. Those guys are really efficient.
    If only the Justin cult was half as efficient as the LPC backroom, maybe we wouldn’t be paying a billion per week in interest on our debt.

    Am I missing something about Gould being a serious contender. My take, in descending order is, voters are fed up with a) PM Trudeau, b) The Liberal Party wonks who backed him, c) The Liberal Party itself, d) Jagmeet Singh the enabler.
