The idea came out of staff conversations about making city-owned space available when no one else was using the space. Denise Beard deserves the credit for this one.
This initiative is not as simple as it sounds. First the room has to be available so this is not something that one can do in advance.
These rooms are not available on weekends, only during the week.
How many empty rooms do these community centres have during the week?
I think that it would be more beneficial for the residents of Burlington if these rooms were occupied by classes that they could attend.
