BURLINGTON, ON
This was the convoy?
This stopped the debate?
Two Regional Police cars were parked nearby.
While those from the People’s Party of Canada got their 15 minutes of fame.
And the people of Burlington missed the opportunity to hear what the next Member of Parliament had to say about what the next government plans to do when elected.
The people who organized the event gave in so easily.
Isn’t that what the people in the United States did when they elected Donald Trump re-elected Donald Trump?

Here’s what Emily Brown wrote on her FB page, “ I am disappointed to hear that the debate for this evening at Port Nelson United Church has been canceled — this was a vital forum to hold the Liberal government to account for their failed policies and debate important issues facing Burlington constituents. Intimidating the church and the surrounding neighbourhood, as done by another candidate, is completely unacceptable. I would welcome the opportunity for a similar forum to engage openly and respectfully with our community.”
While factually true, it was a deliberately vague statement that was intended to give the impression it was the Liberals behind the protest, the threat of which cancelled the meeting. Shameful!
Just to say, the protest was on or close to private property of the Roseland Club – imagine that ? Tennis anyone ? Anyway, rusty convoys or a convoy up Rossmore, the heart of the so-called “Historic Roseland” subdivision is something different indeed. Not a good look for the PPC brand and Michael Bator . All that was missing was the Confederate Flag. Desperate to stupid in my book.
Philip, Emily Brown’s statement on FB is also deliberately vague and factually true. Was it also intended to direct the blame to the Liberal party? I don’t think so. Neither candidate was directing the blame. Both candidates were treading cautiously so as not to ruffle the feathers of the PPC. A Big Boo to the PPC.
Unfair criticism of the well-meaning people who arranged the debate.
Here’s what Karina Gould wrote on her FB page, “It is very disappointing that due to the intimidating behaviour from one campaign in Burlington, the Port Nelson Church had to make the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s All Candidates Meeting. ” While factually true, it was a deliberately vague statement that was intended to give the impression that it was the Conservatives behind the protest, the threat of which cancelled the meeting. Shameful!
Philip…..huh? Maybe i should read her statement backwards. Will that divulge the message?
