This should be interesting,

An announcement came out of Gould’s office a few hours ago saying:

The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, will participate in a fireside chat organized by the Burlington Chamber of Commerce in association with the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University.

The Honourable Karina Gould, Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, will make introductory remarks.

The Liberal Party is gearing up to hold a leadership race to determine who will replace Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Both Karina Gould and François-Philippe Champagne are seen as “yet to announce ” candidates to lead the party.

The fireside chat event would have been set up some time ago and it is traditional for the member of the constituency where the event is taking place would be on hand to do a formal introduction.

The two Cabinet Ministers get along well. Both members would be in a future Cabinet, assuming they win their seats and the Liberals form the government when the federal election takes place.

Will one of them serve as Prime Minister?

Champagne is speaking at the Club Canadian Club in Toronto at noon and is expected to announce a decision on running at that event.
