Tough place to patrol.

News flash via Apple –

U.S. tariffs on hold for 30 days after Canada commits to beefed up border security.

Poilievre wants to send army troops to ensure that drugs don’t get smuggled into the United States and that people don’t find a way to slip across the border into the United States.

President Trump is going to jerk the Canadian government around like this for as long as he can.

On January 24th 2025 the RCMP caught six illegal immigrants crossing the Canada/USA border! Oh wait a minute they were caught coming FROM the USA. How ironic.

How come nobody, not our government, not the opposition, not the media has pushed back on the USA government’s crazy border fixation on fentanyl and illegal immigrants going from Canada to the USA by loudly calling out the USA government for allowing the flood of illegal guns into Canada to continue.

The bright side we have learnt we must do all we can to open up Canada to trade within and we are prepared to hit back wherever we can.Especially when our sovereignty is being challenged by an elected US president who is prepared to set aside legal trade agreements that he negotiated to get what he wants. With friends and our closest ally like this we must rethink how we need put Canada first.

Yep. Once Mexico and Canada responded with hard hitting tariffs Trump had to back down. Both countries suggested additional efforts they could make to control people that the US considers illegal and watching for drugs
Meanwhile Trump has created havoc as various industries and government agencies have made plans on the fly to meet ridiculous deadlines.

I think Trump has another goal “regime change” in Canada. This theatre will be extended until that goal is achieved.

I really don’t like this at all, but I cannot for the life of me disagree fully. First of all, Trump is steadily working on the “regime change” in his USA – President for Life, and rearrange and empower all of the government administrative and power structure to enable this, all done illegally, in Trump’s power grab, with no majority in Congress, Senate, House, and Justice to forcefully challenge this, it seems.

Then there are the annexations on the table, including Canada, and just the other day Gaza is now being taken over by Trump and his USA. He says that they will own it.

Next I see a large budget bill being in line with $300 billion added to the military, like they need it, another $300 billion for new Trump wants spending. This is accompanied by a $650 billion of spending cuts underway in the shrinking of the federal government by Elon Musk, also illegally at the will of Trump.

There are still legal obstacles, but Trump is relentless, and completely untrustworthy, so look out for, as Ted says, the extended theatre until that goal is achieved in Canada. Remember, and Stephen said elsewhere, there are 1444 days – 4 years- to go.
