BURLINGTON, ON.
Ishar Thiara left the stage last Wednesday evening shortly after delivering his opening remarks. He left his jacket on the back of the chair he was using. We assumed he was going to return shortly.
In a statement from family we were informed that: “Mr. Thiara has been advised by his medical provider that he needs to take some time to ensure fast recovery. At this time he will be resting until his health permits.”
We wish Mr. Thiara a speedy recovery.
Ishar Thiara excused himself from the debate. He was fine half hour before the debate. We are told that he had an illness. Then we are told that he has suspended his campaign. But he’s still putting lawn signs up!
I agree that Mr. Thiara is a nice person, but so is every other 70 year old man in Burlington. He does not have the capability or ability to represent ALL of Ward 6! His platform is what again?
I know Mr. Thiara through my friend Bassi. He’s a super nice guy but I don’t know if he is cut out for the job. Although he is successful business man or so I am told. My friend Bassi really likes him and they spend a lot of time together and enter each other. I think they were roommates in college. Anyhow, I wish him well and a speedy recovery. I think more people in the race the better.
I personally like Mr. Thiara and wish him well with his health. But to be frank I don’t think he will represent the community well. He knocked on my door a couple of days ago and kept saying to me that he has been living in the area for 30 years. I tried to ask him some substantive questions but he ignored my questions and kept pointing to living in the area for 30 years. I was so puzzled. I really don’t know how he’s going to win if he does not resonate with voters. I definitely think he has some work to do before he wins this election.

Stanley – i too agree. If it is true that Mr. Thiara is suspending his campaign, then his election team staff should be making a formal announcement. The signs that are plastered across the fencing at Thomas Alton and Tim Dobbie should also be removed.
I too hope Mr. Thiara gets better soon.
This does not sound credible. 20 seconds into his introduction and he runs off the stage. In my opinion I thought he was scared to debate. I noticed him sweating profusely and turning red. I am yet to see any signs on the street. His campaign at best is invisible. It this is serious than I hope he will make a full disclosure of the issue, the public has a right to know. If he can’t debate in a local debate how will be able to voice me and my family concerns at the council table. Just my two cents.
Hope you get well soon, ishar lived a few houses down from me in millcroft a really nice person always around to help. Get better soon
