BURLINGTON, ON.

The 100 + Kilbride residents at a community meeting last night  liked the talk of making parts of the northwestern sector of the city a Heritage Conservation District enough to suggest the city proceed with the research work they are doing.

A show of hands had 4 out of 5 people, a fellow observer suggested it was more like 2 out of 3 – saying the city should continue what is currently a research study of the Mt. Nemo Plateau.

The biggest complaint seemed to be a concern over yet another level of government – which city planner Bruce Krushelnicki assured them was not the case.  “This would be a city by-law that the city could change if it chose to do so.

    Small correction
Reality Check! It is amazing to hear that John Taylor is the only councilor to care about rural residents. I and many of us in ward 6 and outside ward 6 totally disagree. The other councilor (Blair Lancaster, who I assume you are referring to), has not ONLY cared about the rural area, she has dealt with rural issues in a fair and balanced manner, it appears to me that a good councilor does this with all issues. Just because you have your issues what ever they may be, does not mean that the councilor is not doing a good job. Many and I mean many of us feel that Ms. Lancaster is doing a fantastic job. Thanks to Blair. It is time to keep people in check! Stop the bashing!

Now if we only had TWO Councillors who cared about the rural area instead of just one!
By the way, the caring one is Taylor.
