New Public Art in Civic Square - who created this?

BURLINGTON, ON

We know changes are going to be made with Civic Square.

We understood it was going to be quite different – do these photographs point to the direction the city is going?

There is no signage explaining who did the work or why it is sitting in the middle of Civic Square.

Seen from a different angle. The highest point of this work is about where the entrance to City Hall will be once the remake is completed sometime in 2026 – more likely 2027.

Made of wood. Was it built for the skateboard crowd?

I do wish the COB would relocate City Hall away from the Downtown, this along with all the other art scattered around just doesn’t fit, It looks like bulk pick up day.

Maybe to trap and disappear engaged citizens one at a time?

Better be careful Gary with your record ofcengagement.. We stay away from Civic Square with its long term safety and access issues because we want to avoid falls as they can be the end of life at 80 as we know it.

That will really hurt if a kid falls on it.

Could this be part of the art that is appearing around the downtown core that is sponsored by Dan Lawrie?

It might not be a permanent art installation.
