John McVeigh said his form practices what they preach – employee training and staff recognition are core to their operation.

With Canadian headquarters in Burlington, has evolved into helping companies develop unique reward and recognition programs. Recognizing that employees need to have a sense on value and want to be rewarded for their efforts and then developing such programs for a large variety of employers has led to the growth of this firm. In accepting this award, President John McVeigh stated that they practice what they preach as new employees receive constant training, milestone recognition and eventually participation in the company profit-sharing plan. Mr. McVeigh praised the 90 employees in the Burlington location as being the reason for receiving this award.

Burlington Chamber of Commerce President Keith Hoey, told the audience that approximately 50 nominations were received.  For a city that prides itself as a great place to live and work, this does not bode well for the reputation of the companies that are located here.

There might be the perception that one has to be a member of the Chamber to be nominated – not true, any organization in the city can be nominated and chosen as the finalist.  A separate committee does the selection work, which is quite exhaustive. If you do get nominated and happen to win – do expect a call from Keith Hoey to become a member.

In August entries for the 2014 awards will be announced and people will have until October to nominate.

Do these things matter?  All you had to do was hear the responses from tables at the gala when a winner was announced and have been there to see Gino Furgivele of UPS 89  literally bounce across the room and onto the platform to accept the award.  It was a delight to experience.
