Male Arrested for Attempting to Break into Cars in Downtown Burlington

BURLINGTON, ON

On Sunday January 17th 2016 at about 7:20 AM, a patrol officer observed a male pull on door handles to several motor vehicles in the area of Elizabeth Street and James Street in Burlington.

Upon seeing police, the male took off running and was captured after a foot chase where he became assaultive towards the officer and managed to break free. A second foot chase ensued after which the male was successfully arrested.

The male was found to be in possession of a large quantity of assorted coins and a small amount of marihuana.

Arrested and held for bail is:

Willis Lucas Andrew ENRIGHT (18-yrs) of Hamilton

Charged with:

• Theft under $5000 (three counts)
• Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
• Possession of a controlled substance (marihuana) under 30 grams
• Fail to comply with recognizance
• Assault with intent to resist arrest
• Escape lawful custody
