BURLINGTON, ON
There isn’t going to be any snow – is there?
This time last year we were looking at more than a foot of it on top of cars that were parked outside.
Lots of fog, and a lot of really stupid drivers out there as well. Death on the highways is tragic at any time; death at a time when family and friends want to be with each other is soul crushing.
Downtown traffic in the city core gets thick but eases up pretty quickly – the malls are packed – Mapleview with those huge parking lots where space is available in there somewhere – sort of like a maze driving around and around to find one.
That device near the end of the pier which was built to house a small turbine serves as a sort of modern day light house.
The turbine got scrubbed – the Mayor didn’t think turbines were all that relevant anymore, but they still spent the money on the tower that now glows with different coloured lights at night.
The city will save some money on snow removal – not as much as one might think – we still have to pay the owners of those trucks a standby fee – it would be interesting to learn just how much is paid in the way of standby fees.
